My milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
Yeah - give the Oscar to Daniel Day-Lewis.....like now. There Will Be Blood was a great film. I can't believe it was the first film I had seen this year!!! So sad. I don't get out much these days. Hoping that'll change so that I can have more to blog about!
I little update on the baby front [since I only talk about it on my baby blog] - everything is going great. I'm almost 17 weeks [4 months] and you can totally tell I'm pregnant now. I mean, I'm not huge or anything, but I don't just look fat anymore. :) I can't believe how fast this is all going by. As far as the sex of this baby, well....we haven't scheduled that appointment yet, but I think we will be finding out. So i'll make sure to post when we do. Probably some time next month.

Ever wish some one would expire??
I don't necessarily mean death. More like....their time is up. You know like, "time to toss out this expired milk!" There is one person I wish I could toss out.
I think when people retire, they expire from the work force. They're no good anymore. So whythefuck is my expired boss hiring expired employees?!?!?! Seriously. I need a new job. Enough of this circus!

Crime in Pasadena
Holy crap guys. G [my husband] found a dead body on his way to work this morning! Right by old town...actually it is old town! One of the new condo buildings south of Colorado. Fucking sucks. He saw it on the side of the street [next to the sidewalk] as he was driving by. Saw legs sticking out from under some tree branches on the sidewalk. Dude. I can't believe he just told me this story. He called 911 and of course got a busy signal! But as he was getting out of his car he saw another man round the corner and that guy was already talking to a 911 dispatcher [the other guy had gone out to walk his dog]. Apparently, the crime had to have just happened because G's co-worker drove by 10 min. before and saw nothing. I don't even know if I should give much detail. I mean it's an open investigation at this point. I don't know. It's just wrong.
I might post more details later. We'll see.
What a way to start off February! What a way to start off a morning. Poor G!
UPDATE #1: Yes, as Cat stated in her comment, we did go check out the crime scene on our way to Starbucks this morning. Saw the body with the white sheet. Block was yellow taped. Lot's of cops, and the coroner was just arriving with their brown evidence collection bags. We were stopped at a red light so had lots of time to stare in awe and shock. Morbid curiosity?
UPDATE #2: Since those commenting are assuming it was a male, I will say it was a woman. G thinks she was in her late 20's early 30's. From the looks of it and her outfit, she might have been out walking her dog. I think that's why I find it even sadder. She was either attacked or hit by a car. And then left for dead. At least that's what we think. We'll see if we ever hear anything.

Retired people need to stay retired!!!
WTF man. What is up with old people retiring and then getting bored and meddling in other peoples jobs? What The Fuck? This bullshit is seriously starting to piss me off. All these damn people retire and then one day wake up bored out of their minds and decide to call up old friends and colleagues to convince them that they need to be hired part-time to do some bullshit job that isn't necessary and only wastes money that I could use in a raise like every other normal working human. And then my boss goes and cries about not enough money in our budget to get shit done. RETIRED PEOPLE NEED TO STAY RETIRED!!!
wait....what in the name of.....this bitch is sitting at her pretend desk whispering secrets!!! Already?? Just because I put on headphones doesn't mean I can't hear anything!!! O-M-G. I'm gone for a month and the shit falls apart. These damn wannabe retired folks think they have my boss wrapped around their little finger. And they probably do!! That's the saddest part. He is such a push over. His heart is way too big. Argh this place is pissing me off. And here I was thinking I missed work. This is only reminding me of how bad I need to get back on track with a career. I didn't graduate college for nothing. I'm wasting my time here. Nothing new.
So pissed. Must calm down. Must walk out of here.

I don't feel like blogging. I have no funny video to post. I wish I was going to the Lakers game with G tonight. :( At least I'm not nauseous.

In Love...
...with my new lip gloss!! It's the Mentha Lip Tint No.1136 from Co Bigelow Apothecaries - sold at Bath & Body Works. My sister gave me one and I was instantly hooked! I am weary of new lip gloss since they usually just dry out my lips. But this is the best of
both all 3 worlds! Not only does it moisturize my lips, but it also has a soft pink tint that is perfect for all day wear and not too noticeable. AND on top of that it's mint-infused for fresh breath! I have to stop myself from licking it off. And when it does wear off, my lips don't chap or flake!!! This is the best shit ever! So it sells for $7.50 and this weekend B&BW had it on sale for $2!!!! So I bought 4 more! Had to stock up. The crazy part is that ever since I got this I have not used my Carmex once [except before bed]!
I had a pretty good weekend. The highlight [sadly] was yesterdays brunch at the Cheesecake Factory with G. My boss gave me a $50 gift card to this joint. Sadly, I couldn't eat my breakfast because it instantly gave me heartburn. So I had the poached eggs that it was topped with [cleaned off the sauce] potatoes and G's english muffin. We then had the Kahlua Cocoa Coffee Cheesecake. It was soooo damn good. I really enjoyed it. I was thisclose to regretting my pick because the Godiva Cheesecake looked so good, but my pick did not disappoint. The Kahlua Cocoa Coffee Cheesecake had a bottom layers of rich brownie, then Kahlua Cheesecake, followed buy creamy chocolate mousse and Chocolate Ganache. I was afraid it would be too rich, but it so wasn't. It was a real treat since we rarely indulge in dessert.
Last night we were at my parent's house [i seem to be spending A LOT of time there] and my brother connected his laptop to the TV and we proceeded to watch an illegal version of the movie Gone Baby, Gone from the internet. It was very high quality - it looked damn good on the HD tv set. The reason I am confessing to watching movies online illegally is because this movie was so good, we all felt like mailing Ben Affleck our $10. I felt guilty. :(

It's Friday Bitches
I'm happy...
it's Friday
it's raining
to be at work [shocker]
to be driving my car again
to be back online
to be blogging
to not be nauseous
to not have heartburn
to not gag at restaurants
that decaf coffee tastes just like it's better counterpart
to finally have a "thumbs up" smiley on yahoo messenger
Have a good weekend everyone!
And because I miss "YouTube Tuesday" too, here's a little something to make you smile.

Work it out
So I'm finally back at work! Today is my first day back. I'll only be doing half day today and tomorrow, but a full day Friday. I decided that today would be a sort of spring cleaning day for my desk. A lot of sorting out from last year. So far I've been here 3 hours and have only cleaned out my email inbox. Oh well, what else is new. Shouldn't really expect to get much work done the first day back. Plus, I'm more interested in catching up on my internet surfing. Again, what else is new? ;)
In other news, the fact that I'm back at works means that things in the fetus department are progressing nicely. G & I got one of those home doppler's to hear the fetal heart beat. We tried it out this morning and after much searching we found! So all is good.
Here's hoping I'm back to normal blogging!

When life hands you lemons...
..you make lemonade...right? Well that's exactly what G and I have done. Except it's more like we have made our own lemon...little lemon....little as in baby lemon. Are you catching my drift? Of course most of those who are related to us already knew this. But my blog has taking a toll because of this. I wasn't ready to share with the world that come August we will be parents. But I am now.
It's been a tough month. I've been on bed rest for a little over a month. I was without internet and nothing special to blog about. All I kept thinking about was if this baby was gonna stick. But now that we know it is sticking and growing, and that I will soon return to work - I can return to my regular blogging duties.
I won't write out a long post about our journey thus far. That's what the baby blog is for. So if you're interested in reading about that, head on over to Making Baby Geefunk and read all about it.
Thanks to those that stuck around and have been an assome support system to us. We greatly appreciate it!!
Note: as far as work goes...i hope to return some time at the end of next week. So don't expect much blogging till then. Cross your fingers. :)

keep on trucking...
Ever been stuck between a rock and a hard place? Many of us have, and the end of 2007 and the beginning of 2008 has put me in that place - as far as the blogging world is concerned. I do hope that my loyal readers haven't given up on me. But life has thrown me a curve ball, so I have stopped to play catch for a while. Promise to be back at full blogging capacity sooner than later. Stay with me folks....

Out with a bang?
Hello bloggers!!! I'm finally back! I haven't been working and I've had no internet at home - this has translated into no blog posts! I know....the horror! I am so sorry to have left my loyal readers high and dry! I promise I'm ok and will be back to normal posting in the New Year.
I am here now to wish you all a Happy and Safe New Year. '07 wasn't the best year to me...aside from an amazing trip to Italy, of course. But from the looks of it.....'08 is looking pretty damn good right now. Changes are a comin'! Get ready for some awesome stuff in the year to come.
Happy New Year!!!

Lunch Hour Theater Run
I think every one should go see a movie on their lunch hour evey now and then. Sure....a movie is longer than an hour, but who gives a shit!!! If you don't have to clock in or out and don't have an anal boss - then you have no excuse! DO IT!
My co-workers [Chris & Cat] and I decided to do just that this morning. We headed to a 11:45am showing of Juno At the Laemmle just down the street. We picked up some lunch at Rick's Drive-In first [beef burrito with everything & a side of fries, please!]. This movie was soooo funny and great! We all loved it. Great great film. I'd totally see it again.
So i'm obviously back at work. Feeling better, but not 100%. My weekend sucked ass. I didn't leave my home in 3.5 days. The sun was pretty blinding this morning. I was so sick I had to cancel all my holiday party fun. 3 engagements to be exact. Sucks. Oh well. At least I can continue to be the grinch.

The flu sucks
I've been home...sick with the flu. Sucks ass. I can't really think of anything to write, but I wasn't sure when I'd be able to get onthe internet again. I might not be posting till Monday. Sorry folks. Hope I get better soon because I have a busy weekend.
Stay Healthy!

YouTube Tuesday
I heart The Hills, but last nights finale sucked assholes. On the bright side it looks like the show will return with Season 4 early next year. Yay for that!
Here's a funny spoof of The Hills by James Franco and Mila Kunis. Interesting that celebs are doing spoofs of this show. Just goes to show what a hit it is.
And here's one for all you non-Hills fans. So you don't cry yourself to sleep tonight.
This goes out to Matt, my high-five buddy.

I am un-american...
...because I cheered for Ricky Hatton at Saturday's boxing match against Pretty Boy Mayweather. Look Hugie, I could give less of a shit about either one of these boxers, but Mayweather is an arrogant bastard. But enough of this nonsense.
Friday
I was hoping for a nice low-key Friday night since I had been feeling pretty crappy all day, but some how my loving husband ended up having boys night in....with me home....not cool. But I played the cool wife and played xbox 360 for a while, but when more guys showed I called it a night. I tried to read, but passed out instead. Nothing like a loud bunch of guys to put me to sleep. Seriously, I could sleep through anything if I wanted to.
Saturday
I slept in and then got ready to head to my parents house. My brother had ordered the fight on Direct TV HD and I planned to hang out over there all day since G had to work. I dropped him off and then headed over. I did a whole lot of nothing since my parents weren't even home [they went to TJ]. Watched a lot of tv with my brother and niece. Later on some peeps showed up for the big boxing match. We ordered pizza and watched a great fight, then called it a night. I really do hate dislike Mayweather. He's so fucking cocky. Ricky Hatton is like the people's fighter. But whatever....i don't care enough to argue anymore.
Sunday
Once again we headed to my parents house. My mom called to invite us over for some handmade tortillas [aka heaven on earth], carne asada, beans, cacique cheese, chile al molcajete. It's all wonderfully good and authentic [I should take pictures next time...wait...my dad was taking pictures. Must ask him to email them]. She tricked us into staying longer by saying she was making Posole for dinner, but after all the crazy Christmas decorating that was going on in that house, she didn't have time to make it. But we kept busy watching football and napping. We topped of the night with some non-greasy fast food from Everest [the Tops alter ego in Altadena - owned by the brother of the Tops establishment. Practically the same menu], and then a quick trip to Tarjay.
G & I got sucked in to the TV movie For One More Day based on the book by Mitch Albom. It was pretty good.
As for today - My mom tells me she's making the Posole today. So once again we'll be spending the evening at my parents house. But on the bright side, this means I get to watch the season finale of The Hills! Woo-hoo! Here's to a great week!

A prayer to 8lb 6oz Baby Hey-zus
Dear Lord Baby Jesus -
This morning I learned that it has not been proven that you were born on December 25th. I'm not really sure what to do with this information. And if this "new" information is true, then why is it that we celebrate your birth on the 25th? Baby Jesus, please use your omnipotent powers to shed some light on our ignorant boss. This holy Christian man that can't even remember your birth. Yesterday, Khriz & Cat tried to fight for your rights. Much to the horror of our boss, they removed you from your manger as you have not been born yet and should not be displayed in the nativity scene. Is this really just a Catholic tradition? Has the Seminary turned it's back on us after encouraging and welcoming all religions?
Oh newborn, fragile Baby Jesus, with your golden fleece diaper, know that every time I walk into the front desk and see you in the manger....i know the truth. I will continue to believe. Our boss thinks that just because he "runs the place" he can put your 8lb 6oz infant body out for display whenever he pleases. "Because why have a nativity scene with no Jesus?"
And as Cat said, we pray that you can use your Baby Jesus powers to knock some sense into his hard head.
Thank you dear Baby God.
Amen
***Now please go check out Cat's letter to the very powerful Baby Hey-zus.

Stewie: What's that? Oh yes, yes. I love crack. I'm absolutely coo-coo for crack!

Tonight, G & I are heading out to watching my cousin Mariela's high school soccer game over at Duarte High School. She has 2 evening games coming up and really wanted us to check her out. I might try to make it tomorrow too [same place @ 5pm].
Happy Hump Day!
