I wrote my last post! :-O I know...sorry.

I don't want to leave you all high and dry. I know there are still a *few* faithful readers that check in every day in hopes of a new post. Although I don't have the will-power to write a full post today, I will do one of those random listings of my life. I know those can be entertaining to.

So until I get motivated to write for reals....

- I love the cold weather! I wish it were colder ALL the time. I also want it to rain a lot more. Although I must admit that I cannot enjoy these things as much now that I have a baby to worry about. I now worry about him being cold or having to take him out in the rain.

- I really really want to go to Disneyland before January 4th. I Love this time of year there. Starting with Halloween. The Nightmare Before Christmas Haunted Mansion. LOVE IT. But I know...we won't make it there this year. I'm gonna save my nickles and dimes to buy a yearly pass when Andy is old enough to enjoy it.

- Speaking of Christmas, *hopefully* we'll go buy our tree tomorrow and do some decorating. Looking forward to it. Although I do get a little sad when I think about the empty space that will be underneath the tree. Not many gifts being bought this year.

- I wish I had the time, energy, and money to throw another holiday party this year. I love having people over.

- Heroes tonight. Which reminds me, there was a Storm Chasers marathon last night and they are ALL on my dvr! G wasn't too happy about that. Must make time to watch some.

- Just took a 15min break from writing this to sort thru my junk mail and shred it.

- I keep thinking that I want to play Blockles.

- Looking forward to breakfast next week with Diana.

- Also looking forward to Leslie's 4th Annual Christmas Tea gift exchange on the 20th. Haven't seen this girl in many many months. Have absolutely no clue what cool non-generic gift I will buy her. Been sucking real bad at gift giving lately.

- For some crazy reason I am beginning to look forward to training for Mt. Wilson Trail Run. We start in January. I know a lot of it has to do with the fact that Andy is 4 months and I haven't lost much weight. My clothes still don't fit right and it's pretty damn depressing. I'm also looking forward to signing up for pilates [next week] at the Arcadia Rec Center with an awesome instructor I had at 24hr Fitness a few years back. Classes Start in January! This should all get my weight loss efforts going again.

- Also depressing is not having very many shoes to wear. Especially now that it's getting cold and I really only have sandals that fit. Don't exactly have tons of money laying around to spend. Like my brother said, maybe I should make a trip to Payless and Ross. Sometimes you can find some cute cheap stuff. Maybe....I don't know.

- I have a problem. since I started this post I have refreshed Twitter 5 times! Why don't people update???

Ok enough. This is like my brain just threw up into this post. Let's save some for a rainy day.

Election Day Recap

On Tuesday we had our mini-election day party. There were 4 of us [me, G, Rob, and Chris] +Andy. It was crazy and hectic. Being on the West Coast meant many states were already being called by the time I got off work.

But first things first, after dropping Andy off at my mom's I headed up the street to vote. I waited almost an hour, but it went by fast. Took me all 2 minutes to vote since I had my sample ballot filled out. I then decided I was already pretty late to work so I stopped at Starbucks for my free tall coffee and some tea since I was getting sick.

At lunch I went to my mom's so that she, my brother, and sister could go vote and I would watch the kids. They only waited 5 minutes! Before heading back to work I went down to the democratic headquarters [which was crazy busy] to buy more t-shirts. They were all sold out. But I was able to get Andy I tee to match my own. Later G told me that since the official one's were sold out he would get a bootleg one from some guy at the gas station. Here's our official Election Day family portrait!

Isn't Andy cute! This kid is all smiles these days.

I was so tired by this point. After work I rushed to the grocery store to buy supplies for our party...last minute, I know. I then rushed home to get dinner started. The menu wasn't patriotic, but the main dish is worth mentioning. I made sausage meatloaf cupcakes with creamy potato frosting. They were so good! My brother really wanted me to try this recipe after seeing it in my Rachel Ray Everyday Magazine [October 2008]. They were super easy to make and were enjoyed by all.

So the plan was to take weak jello shots every time a state was called - a red shot for the red states and blue for the blue states, but that didn't happen. First, we were all too tired and it was a work night. Second, G made the strongest jello shots ever! Great for a real party, but not for our purpose of taking many in a few hours. I also never got around to making my drink of the night - I Can See White Russians From My House. I bought all the supplies but was too tired and my throat was really hurting by the end of the night. I felt too sick to drink.

All in all we had a good time flipping between CNN, NBC and ABC news. I got chills and a little teary when CNN called it for Obama. I just knew he had to win. I had an overwhelming feeling of confidence in Obama a week ago. That's when I knew he was meant to be President. Call me crazy...but I told G and my sister. They are my witnesses.

So here we are. A new time, a new beginning for our great country. Soon, Barack Obama will take office. The man that was able to inspire hope in billions of people throughout the world.

Yes We Can

RIP Maternity Leave

Today is my first official day back at work. I planned to take it easy, and boy have I. I have done nothing but surf the web all morning. I missed the internets. I guess that's a plus to being back.

Leaving Andy with my mom this morning wasn't hard. I guess because it's my mom and not some strange daycare. I went at lunch and he was sleeping soundly on my brother's bed. He didn't wake up till I was about to leave. I do miss him though.
I miss hanging out with him all day.
I miss my couch.
I miss my DVR.
I miss watching True Blood.
I miss reading.
I miss reading to Andy after his morning nap.
I miss my PJs.
I miss napping.
I missed Monday Mommy Movie today.
I miss walking to SB with Andy....wait....that only happened once. Still...I miss being able to if I wanted to.

Yeah...there's a lot to miss. But I like the internet to keep me busy.
I like talking to adults.
I like not talking about baby stuff.
I like not talking at all.
I like peeing when I want to.
I like getting dressed.
I like putting on makeup and combing my hair.
I like eating healthy.
I like eating...period.
I like being able to roll the windows down.
I like fresh air and not A/C.
I like being able to hear the radio.
I like being able to "run errands" without the extra load.

So its got its pro's and con's.

Since my CW Chris isn't here today [out with the flu] I plan to do no work. I haven't been caught up and don't want to mess with the money that someone else has been counting. This is good for you since it has given me time to blog. Praying that this becomes a daily thing.

Tonight we're hosting a pre-election night/SNL Bash party. Any excuse for a party really. I have a feeling that the only guests at this party will be me, Andy, and G. We'll see. I really wanted to have an Election party tomorrow. I love watching CNN and seeing all the states turn blue or red....but mostly blue. Totally lame...I know...but another excuse for a party. Plus, we suddenly have like 5 bottles of wine in our stash! A miracle! We never have more than half an opened bottle [Thanks Rob for the 2 bottles on my birthday. Another 2 came from our wine tasting night at the San Dimas Wine Shop with my friend A on Friday night. Totally cool place btw. The 5th bottle was purchased at Costco before any of the other 4 showed up.].

Don't forget to VOTE tomorrow people! No matter who you vote for, let your voice be heard!

I'll be going at lunch time. It's never busy at our polling place during that time. Might go in the morning. I'm also thinking of swinging by the democratic headquarters on Lake Ave to purchase us some OBAMA/BIDEN t-shirts for our parties that no one else is attending but us. Good times.

Feliz Dia De Los Muertos

I LOVE Dia de los Muertos. And have always wanted to go to the Hollywood Forever Cemetery for their awesome celebration. Again, this year I did not attend. It was last night and G was working till late. Maybe this will go on my 101 in 1001 list [That list will be explained in a later post].

Today is a day to remember our loved one's that have passed on. So take a moment to reflect, remember, and honor those close to you that our no longer with us in body.

Drunk blogging at 5:38pm

5:39pm

Feels like i'm on a boat. hmmm...

Why did I just take that tequila shot? I swore it off years ago. *chugging New Castle*

Grandparents aren't doing well. I'm tired. Alcohol feels good. No I Don't have PPD.

I didn't take the shot alone. Mike and Ryan joined me.

Abuelitas heart is growing weak.

Papa Lupe broke his leg while en route to see Abuelita...or maybe it was his hip. Still waiting for an update.

My mom was bawling this morning (grandparents on mom's side). I could barely keep it together. But honestly, once we hung up I lost it. I've always been close to my grandparents. Even though they live in Mexico. Especially my grandma who took care of me throughout my childhood. They have always been so strong. It's hard to believe age has finally caught up. Old people getting old. Sucks. You know it's only a matter of time, but it's hard to accept.

I was telling G that I'm the type of person that feels the pain of others. That's why i'm so emotional and cry with movies and TV and when things happen to my "online friends". I put myself in "their" place. I feel my mom's pain. To be so worried about one parent and then BOOM the other parent suffers an injury. How do you deal?

I won't be selfish and ask for a lifetime. But the holidays are around the corner...maybe just one more.

October

I love October. It's my birthday month, it marks the start of fall, it's breast cancer awareness month, the menu changes and I want to bake more, and we have Halloween. Oh - and pumpkin pie....mmmmm...pie. I have a special place in my heart for pumpkin pie. This is my favorite time of year. It's this time of year that I wish I lived somewhere where I could actually experience the seasons. The changing color of leaves, the crisp air. No. I live in sunny ass California...where we have had record heat since October began. Apparently we got a "break" from the heat today, it only got up to 90 degrees. Whoop-de-doo Bazel. And it "might" rain Saturday...sprinkle is what it should say. Only enough to get the car even more dirty. But enough about that. Let's talk about the good stuff.

I love a good fall harvest. The new pie flavors, the warm stews. Flavors are so much more intense during this time, and I love it...being a Scorpio and all. I'm going to make sure to really enjoy this fall using all of my senses. Seeing, feeling, smelling, tasting. Love it.

27.5 days until my birthday! I'll be 27, young enough to still look forward to a birthday. Although I can't imagine dreading a birthday ever. I love celebrating another year. I love looking back and seeing how much I have grown since my last birthday. Age is just a number. I look forward to all I still have to learn and experience.

October is also Breast Cancer Awareness month. This August marked my mother's 6 year anniversary as a breast cancer survivor. After year 5 the chances of cancer returning drop. In honor of this, all my posts will be in pink. Next year, my mom, sister and I have vowed to do the Race for the Cure. We will get a team together and raise funds for the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The race will take place on Sunday, March 15, 2009 at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. Keep it in mind because I'll be coming after you to join our team and donate! Click here for more info.

ACTUALLY - after typing that last sentence I decided to actually sign up for the race and start a team page! So it's official! I've been saying I'm gonna do this race for many years and never get around to signing up, so this time it's official. I will be sending out emails to ask to join the team and/or to donate. So keep an eye on your inbox! You can also click on the thermometer on the right to donate.

I'm so excited for this! I <3 October. :)

Blog Roll

I just updated the blogs I frequent over on the left hand column under "Need to Waste More Time?". You'll notice the name of the blog, followed by the title of their latest post and how long ago it was posted. If you read this blog and would like to be added - please leave me a comment and I will add you. Sorry if I missed anyone!

And while you're checking out blogs, make sure to head over to my baby blog to see Andy's latest picture!

Hi, my name is geefunk and I'm a twitterholic.

Why haven't more of you jumped on the Twitter bandwagon? Serio. Twitter is the safest way to stalk someone and I want to stalk YOU. You know who I'm talking to. My readers that don't ever comment...aka my family and most friends! I am very happy that Diana has finally joined. I am also very happy that Jessica and Mariela tweet way more now. I really do want more of you to open yourselves up to complete strangers...or just to me. It's so much fun. Trust me.

I love having a catalog of all my random thoughts and doings. Especially when I don't blog, twitter serves as a sort of micro-blog - like blogging one line at a time. I know a lot of you follow me thru the twitter updates on my blogs....secrectly...*cough*angelica*cough* So come on! Join! You can even make your updates private so only those YOU choose can read them. You can approve who wants to follow you. Join! Its so much fun to tweet from your phone or computer. Try it out...and if you don't like it...then delete your account. It's easy as pie. But remember to go follow me when you join!
Still unsure? You can also use Twitter to get your daily dose of breaking news or tabloid trash updates. Almost every media source is currently using Twitter - i.e. I follow cnn, BreakingNewsOn, E! news, and TMZ [and a few others]. Get updates sent directly to your phone. I think this one of the best aspects of Twitter.

Come on! Do it! Do it! Do it!

Mommy Movie Monday

Today I went to my first Mommy Movie Monday at the Krikorian Theater in Old Town Monrovia. The lights aren't completely turned off, the sounds is turned down just a notch, and babies and young toddlers are free to roam. Andy and I were joined by Diana and her sweet daughter Lara. The movie was at 10am and I was very sleep deprived, but after some coffee and just plain excitement of returning to the movies woke me up. The movie of the week was Ghost Town. It was very funny and touching. One of the few movies that has made me laugh out loud. Then it got sad, and I cried...thank gawd Diana was also on the verge of tears. Didn't feel so stupid.

Our kids were little angels. Even Lara, who Diana says usually has to be chased around, just sat close by and kept quiet for the most part. Andy woke up halfway thru and ate and starred at the giant people. He was so amused by the giant screen. I fear his love of television is growing.

After the movie we grabed lunch at a sushi restaurant near by named Mikomi. Really good sushi at a decent price [pricer than my fav spot Ichima].

Every time I hang out in Old Town Monrovia I love it more and more. It's so quaint and far from the over-crowded streets of Old Town Pasadena [my 1st home]. The best part is the free parking! 90 minutes on the street, and sections of 3 hour and 8 hour parking in the lots located on the side streets. My goal is to make it to the Monrovia Family Festival and Farmer's Market that happens every Friday from 5pm to 9pm. I have a wedding to attend this Friday, but hopefully next Friday will work.

It was a lot of fun and I can't wait to do it again next week! Thanks Diana!

Legalizing Weed in California?

This is a controversial topic, but just so you readers know...I'm all for it.

There is a good chance that there will be an initiative on November's ballot to vote on legalizing weed in California. It would be sold in stores that currently sell alcohol and tobacco [weed would finally be included in the same category as alcohol & tobacco]. You would pay an extra tax for the purchase which would help create more revenue for California. If you want to sell it in your store, you would just have to buy a $5 stamp [anonymously] for an eighth ounce of weed. A $50 annual license would be required to grow one plant.

I do think these fees are low. Considering how much can be made thru the growth and sale of weed, I think California should get more money out of it. Especially considering the financial crisis we are in.

Check out more details over at THCblog.com.

Caffeine Buzz

These two were made for each other. How I missed making espresso at home. I bought some illy espresso coffee at Fresh & Easy and it is the best! I have tried many different brands of espresso and this beats them all...of course...right? At almost $13 a can it is expensive, but oh so worth! I love sipping espresso from my little espresso cup & saucer set from Crate and Barrel. My sister loves it too and I can't wait for her to come over so we can enjoy it together.

Side note: I had 3 espresso cups....and....um...yeah....I thought my head might explode. It felt so weird. At least I'm not sleepy!

I mentioned Fresh and Easy. It a grocery store in our neighborhood. It reminds me of Trader Joe's and Costco put together. I love it! They sell their own brand food, but also normal stuff you would find at any grocery store [i.e. lunchables, Lays chips, Coke, Tide, Corona]. Prices are great. It's pretty small and there are only self check-out stands. I like them. It is not a one-stop shot for me, but it's on my way home when I take Foothill and it is defintiely worth the stop. I'll still be at TJ's [which is about 3 blocks from me] but I like being able to find national name brand items at a competitive price along with other specialty items.

A month? No way!

Can I use this for an entire month?

I can't believe it's been almost a month since my last post here. I always think of things to blog about, but finding the time to actually write out posts is tough. I've also been reading a lot lately. I had stopped for a while, but now I'm really into reading during my free time [instead of my usual watching crappy TV]. I'm hooked on the books by Emily Giffin. I have a whole bunch of other books lined up. Pretty much all chic-lit right now. I need the light reading right now. I have some heavier stuff sitting on my book shelf, but I can't tackle that just yet.

What else has been happening? In all honesty, taking care of our new baby is all I have time for. Most of the time I'd rather be do nothing [aka watching crappy tv] when Andy is napping. Now I read. So internet time is sparse these days. But 6 weeks into this new routine I am finally settling in. Now I actually want to be out and about with Andy instead of wasting my days away. This may be because my maternity leave is quickly coming to an end. I have settled on an exact return date, but it's looking like it may be October 6th. That would take me back to work just shy of my 12 week allowance. I mostly want to go back because we really can't afford to leave on one full paycheck and one 60% [disability]. Sad...but true. If it was up to me...I'd TOTTALY be a SAHM [stay at home mom]. I would LOVE it. Serio. Never get bored. I have so much I could be doing every day. :-p Being a mom is hard work! I get it now.

So no promises, but I hope to blog more often. Even my baby blog has been neglected with all my reading.

Making time to blog

It's hard getting time to write on post on this blog. Especially when I want to keep this blog as baby free as possible. But here are some interesting things I've come across lately that I'd thought I'd share.

#1
So late on seeing this picture and article. But a caption for this can go in so many directions. Hilarious!

"Show me something out there!" Bush urged May-Treanor and partner Kerri Walsh, who promised him "We'll make you proud."

Courtesy of USA Today. Check out the article.

#2

WTF can I say about this. But there are SO many things wrong with this.

Check out the article over at Gothamist.

That's it for now. G returned to work today after 3 weeks of paternity leave, so I'm all alone with le bebe. But all is good. Hes actually waking up so I must wrap this up. I'll be making more of an effort to blog here.

Cheers

- 1st postpartum beer...I missed this bitch!

Cheers to the end of pregnancy, the beginning of parenthood, and to an amazingly calm baby - Andres. I'm knocking on wood as I type that I think we won the baby lottery. Andy has been the best sleeper, eater, and sleeper. That's all he does. With an occasional smile thrown in. So cheers for what I can say we have - the happiest baby on the block. :-)

Updates

A quick list of what's been happening since I haven't blogged in forever.

- We're stilling settling into our new apartment. Boxes still sitting around, but not too many left.

- Been sleeping on our assome mattress for almost a week now and it's so perfect. We love it. A cal king is a heavenly thing when both G and I need some extra space. Although I am having trouble finding a simple white bed skirt. At least in store. May just have to order it online.

- Maternity leave is cool. I have tons of time to go looking for all these things we still need. I also have time to go relax at my cousin's pool and do daytime stuff. I was always so envious of everyone that was always out and about on weekdays. I even get to catch up on movies by going to matinee shows! OMG and sleep! I get to sleep in. Not much of a napper these days, but it's nice to know I can. And I hardly sleep at night so I totally sleep in.

- I'm so boring. I have absolutely nothing interesting to say.

- I did LOVE Dark Knight. Best movie of the summer by far. Best movie of the year I think. It was long but I was glad it was. Wouldn't have been right to edit any of that out.

- I was at the pool on Tuesday and I think I got a little sun burnt becasue I have been very itchy since last night. Especially my poor belly that was already itchy. It was the first time my tiger belly had been exposed.

- I just told G that I have nothing interesting to say on here and he told me to talk about him.

- I have nothing interesting to say.

- He said I should have sports section. Yeah....maybe that would've worked when I actually kept up with sports. Not these days.

- I splurged today and got my eyebrows waxed at the Anastasia counter in Nordstroms at the Santa Anita mall. It was good, but not great. May be my eyebrows, but when I go thome and looked in the mirror there were quite a bit of hairs that had to go. So I cleaned it up myself. This girl at the counter is good, she does my friend A's eyebrows and they always look great, but it just didn't work with me. Still glad someone else did it and not me. I had been letting them grow out for a month so that I could wax them before baby G came.

- Just placed an order on babiesrus.com and used our 10% off completion coupon. Didn't even dent the total. Babies ARE expensive.

- It is now almost midnight. I should go to bed.

- Oh yeah...I miss baking. I should bake tomorrow.

Random Doings

I've been wanting to blog about The Peach Cafe in Monrovia. G and I had breakfast there on Sunday and it was sooooo good! We had to wait a while for a table [went during their Sunday rush hour] but it was so worth it. When we were paying the owner handed us a take-home menu and told us to call in before so that our table would be ready the next time. Assome!

It's a small place. They have a few tables outside which are nice on a non-hot humid morning. I don't have pictures because I can't find my camera and I was too hungry to think about my cell phone. But G had an omelet with a side of chocolate chip pancakes. Those pancakes were delicious! I had something off their weekend specials menu. It was the Peach Benedict - a giant waffle [smoked bacon, maple syrup, and cornmeal in the batter] topped with a huge piece of ham and 2 eggs covered in a cheese sauce [their version of hollandaise and so good]. I LOVED my dish. Wish they would have it on the menu permanantly. I guess it's better that they don't because then I wouldn't try any other menu items.

The Peach Cafe totally has that family-run feel. Everyone is very welcoming, especially the owner. They also found out we had just moved to the area and were gushing about how great the community was. I totally get that Sierra Madre vibe from this part of Monrovia. Love it.

If you're ever looking for a good place and are in the area - this is the place. I hear their panini's are great too!

In other news - This morning I'm taking the Rogue to get lojack and bluetooth installed. It's an all day job and they better have that rental car for me. West Covina is not my hood and I need to get shit done.

And speaking of the Rogue, it does get good gas mileage. We filled up today and it was at about 260 miles. Sticker says it gets 26 miles to the gallon highway and 21 street. This is pretty darn close to what my TC was doing. I think my TC was doing about 280 on avg. And as you can see, we've had the car for exactly one week and have driven a crap load! Times are busy trying to get things ready for baby G's arrival....which could be any day now [if he makes an early arrival].

Hopefully I'll get all of baby G's clothes and bedding washed today at my mom's [at least the stuff that is up to 6 months]. I'll be meeting up with Diana later. Can't wait! And then maybe a trip to Ikea when we pick up the car [since it's just across the way] to get the remaining furniture pieces needed.

The end of an era...

...the era of my Scion TC. :-(( Today......I said goodbye to my TC. My assome ass TC that I will forever love. But it was all for the better. Of course, I needed a more "family friendly" car. The 2-door was just not gonna cut it. So now I have a mommy-mobile....wow....saying that sure makes it so real...how much things are changing.

Introducing the newest member of the family:

'08 Nissian Rogue in Gotham Grey
We did some shopping at Ikea in West Covina, and then headed to Babies R Us where we finally were able to purchase the car seat that we have been waiting for since May. Afterwards, G decided that we should head to the Nissan dealership across the street to "see" the Rogue. Yeah...seeing led to test-driving which led to getting an appraisal on my TC which led to a quote which led to our magic number being offered that we could not refuse. Before I knew it we were shaking hands and emptying out my TC and driving off the lot in a new Rogue.

It all happened so fast [not really...more like almost 4 hours] that I became emotional about it all. The thought of saying goodbye to my TC was enough to bring me to tears. That TC was my first car purchase. All mine...in my name...with my momey. It was sad to see my TC go, but it had been my idea all along to get a bigger car. I seriously sat there in the showroom with tears running down my face. Would I have cried if not pregnant? Maybe....but the hormone overload just made everything so emotional. It was overwhelming. So many things have been changing....all good...but still....it's change....scary, exciting, worthwhile change.

So we have a new car. Wow...I mean YAY!

WEEKEND RUNDOWN

I haven't done a real blog post in FOREVER! So let's get to it before I run out of time since it was a long holiday weekend.

FRIDAY

Started my day at the mall shopping for a dress for my baby shower on Saturday and for gifts for my shower hostesses. After that I headed to my moms where we would be carpooling to Brookside Park over by the Rose Bowl [our usual 4th of July spot]. Park was pretty relaxing as it wasn't too hot. Lots of food. Fireworks were not as good as last year. And it didn't help that we happened to pick a spot right behind a tree that would block most of the fireworks show. Lame. Unfortunately G had to work all day so he missed all festivities. Sucks.

SATURDAY

Shower day! G and I headed off to Pasadena to kill some time before our shower at my parents house. We had lunch at Chipotle, stopped at target for gift bags and other misc. items, and then G came with me to get a mani-pedi. I went to a new place on Lake Ave and Union and I loved it! They give an awesome massage and do a great job for a good price. I hear they do great eyebrow waxing too. Might try it before I have this kid.

After giving G's mom a ride from work we headed over to our shower. There was quite a bit of people already there. It was decorated soooo cute! It matched our Safari theme for our nursery. There was a lot of green and brown which my sister described as our wedding theme but for baby. So true. I love that they used these colors since I'm not much of a blue fan. We had a great time and got a lot of good loot. I'll have a full re-cap on my Baby Blog tomorrow. I don't have the pictures from our photographer yet [my brother and his fancy camera].

Quick shout-outs:
Nancy - Thank you for planning an beautiful shower for us! It was perfect in every way.
Vanessa - Thank you for taking the time [while pregnant and managing a toddler] to pick and mail out our invites. It means a lot that you would help out like this.
Angelica - Thanks for the bangin' ass cake! Serio. Can't stop thinking about it. And G thanks you for his UCLA balls. So cute!
Jackie - Thank you for providing the yummy favors! They were totally cute and a great idea. I love edible favors.

Ladies, it just means so much to me that your would all come together for me!

As we speak, the loot is being delivered to our home. Can't wait to get all unpacked and start setting up the nursery!

SUNDAY

After having breakfast at my mom's and wishing Vanessa farewell, G and I headed off to Macy's to check out their sale on mattresses. We went with the intention of buying a queen size cheaper end mattress. We came out with a Cal King pricey mattress! It was one of those "go big or go home" moments. We were way overdue for a new mattress set. How over due? We had been sleeping in my college bed....my full-size bed from Ikea. So yeah....it was over due. Especially with a baby coming soon. we didn't want nor need the extra expense, but this is an investment after all [or at least thats what the sales guy got us to believe]. This is the mattress set we got and it was discounted well over 50%. This really is Macy's biggest sale.

After a quick lunch at Tops, we headed back home to sleep off the shock of our gigantic purchase. we had wanted to catch a movie but the times didn't work with us. We also had plans to work on the unpacking, but my nap went long [which is great since I hardly sleep at night now]. So we picked up chinese for a late dinner [so yeah...we eat out a lot....lately...we haven't unpacked our kitchen gear] and watched The Savages. Good sad movie.

Happy Father's Day

A quick shout out to all the father's today. Hope it's a good day for all of you.

My dad: the funniest dad ever. He's funny without trying and no one ever tires of his jokes. He has been thru everything with us and with nothing more than open arms. You never need more from him. He puts his family first and yet manages to succeed in all aspects of life. May your smile never fade from your face dad. :)

My father-in-law: another funny guy with a huge heart. From the first day he met me he has treated me like a daughter. I always feel warm and welcomed in his home. And now, G and I are about to make him a grandpa for the first time. You can't find a soon-to-be-grandpa that is more excited than him.

And to very special soon-to-be-dad: My husband G. Seeing your face light up with joy every time you feel our baby move in my belly fills me with the greatest warmth and joy. Everyone can see how much kids love and you love them. There is no doubt you will be an amazing father. I knew this from our first year of dating even though we were still in high school. Can't wait to see your face when our baby makes his grand entrance! I love you!

Step on a crack break your momma's back

Not to beat a dead horse, but WTF LAKERS:?????

'nough said.

I'm really beginning to think that it's mine and G's fault that they lost. We have watched every single game at our apartment [along with the usual suspects of Rob, Chris, Mike, and sometimes Ryan & Hector] except for 3 games. What 3 games? The 3 these bitches have lost! [The one they lost to San Antonio - yeah we were at a Dodger game]. It really blows that our Lamaze class is on Thursday, but what can we do? For $90 I ain't skipping!

Speaking of Lamaze, G is really enjoying it. He feels he's learning a lot which is good since this class was for him more than me. He is gonna be my coach after all. But this is also making me consider a natural birth. AKA drug FREE. I know....I'm crazy....but they make it sound so easy! We'll see because I'm totally not opposed to drugs. I'm all for it! I'll elaborate more on this on my baby blog.

Today we get a gift from my MIL. She is giving us a fat check to use on baby gear. Anything we want. This money is practically spent already. I want to get the Safari bedding from Baby Gap [although just as I was gonna order it they sold out, but I know they'll get more] and a Glider w/matching ottoman from Target. Can't wait! We don't have much baby stuff yet. Sorta just been waiting for our showers.

Nothing special planned for the weekend. Kids b-day party tomorrow and then Sunday we plan to catch a matinée showing of The Happening and then the Laker game.

Have a good one!

And happy Friday the 13th. ;)

Happy Blogaversary To ME!!

My first post was written on June 7, 2007. I'm 3 days off, but my blogging has also been off so it works. I'm so happy to have reached this milestone. I was never sure I'd be able to keep up with this or even make it semi-interesting. But it's looking good and I'm hoping that it'll only get better in the future. This has definitely been the "trial & error" year. Here's to the next year of memories!

4x4

After a long ass day registering for our baby showers, G was rewarded with this. A 4x4 from In n Out. He also had animal style fries. What was I rewarded with? Krispy Kreme donuts! I had been thinking about them since yesterday. It being national donut day today I figured it was the best day to get em. Plus, we were in Burbank at the new Babies R Us (which had its grand opening today).

We're now heading home to enjoy our donuts and watch "Sweeney Todd". Maybe we'll also watch "Charlie Wilson's War" if I don't pass out. And don't worry folks. I have Krispy Kreme once a year...if I'm lucky. I promise Baby G won't come out obese.

Here we go Lakers...here we go!

Are you ready? For the Lakers to whoop some ass??? Yea boi!!!

Tonight is Game 1 of the NBA finals. All I have is 2 requests:

#1 - Lakers, please kick some ass and take at least 1 game in Boston. Who am I kidding. Take both!

#2 - Can we please get over the past?
Too much hype = BIG let down.
Let's just relish in the present and let Kobe and Garnett have a moment.

I also must sadly report that G and I will be missing the game. Well, missing it live at least. G is recording it as we have our 2nd Lamaze class tonight. Game starts at 6pm and class starts at 6:30pm. Boo. I know. But we had no idea when we registered for the class. But I'm sure we can rely on this one soon-to-be dad to loudly whispering score updates throughout the class like last week. LOL!

Things that make you go "WTF?"

Who is this clown? A gerber daisy jacket with a rose pinned on! What is this? Prom? He sure gets dressed up for the Stanley Cup finals. He's like the Craig Sager of the NHL. Except Craig would never look so flamin'. Then again, I wouldn't put it past him.

Fast times...

Life is busy, and the blog must wait. Sorry folks. Guess once I feel of the wagon I really didn't care if I posted everyday or not.

So I'm sitting here at my desk and it's been raining outside for about 10 min. I soooo wanna curl up under my desk and go to sleep! I had a long ass night. Please refer to my baby blog for that story. I'm also participating in an AI chat with David Archuleta, although non of my questions were chosen. Poor Baby Face, I really thought he had it. After Tuesday nights performance, he was the clear winner. But I like some surprise and was happy to see David Cook win. I'm sure all the cougers out there got together and voted for him a million times.

People are asking some lame ass questions. Turns out our little David wants to continue his education and maybe record an album. He's a little pessimistic though. He says, "If music ends soon, it would be great to serve a mission for my church." Ummm....that's great and all lil' D, but hello?!?! You were runner up in AI!! Music is soooo not gonna end soon. You have the better voice. Anyway, too much AI talk on here.

Lakers pulled off another crazy win. Damn you Lakers. Maybe it was the white-knuckle tension that brought on some contractions last night. Don't do this to me again please.

I'm so sleepy. I have no idea what else to share. I need some sugar, although i wish it were caffeine. OMG I seriously need something. I just got a text message and I picked up my stapler and almost put it to my ear to say hello. [shaking head]

Hot Cars

If you're in the Pasadena area, there is a Ferrari car show on Colorado Blvd in Old Town. The street is closed from Fair Oaks Ave to Pasadena Ave. I won't be there. No thanks. To damn hot and I hate fighting for parking. But if you go, make sure to grab some frozen yogurt at 21 Choices. Mmmmm. I could go for some right about now.

Things that happen when ur pregnant

You have to resort to someone else doing your nails. In this case, my husband. I'm in need of a bad pedicure, but haven't had time to get one done. Here we are waiting for G's dad before heading to a baptism. My nail polish was growing out so I asked G to touch it up. :-p He did an ok job for his first time. But I still won't let him near me with nail clippers.

Hot Damn!

I'm stuffed from my sushi lunch. No, nothing was raw, thanks. Wish it had been. It is so effing hot today. I just keep seeing the number on my weather desktop widget go higher and higher. We are currently at 99 degrees! FAWK! And our farking apartment has the lamest A/C in the world! And there are gonna be a bunch of guys watching the Laker game later today, making our apartment even hotter! Oh well.

It's been 45 mins. since I typed the last paragraph. Why must there be work to do on Fridays??? Oh, I know....must be because I slack the entire week. Any who. Now my weather widget says 100 degrees. Wowzers.

Tomorrow I'm taking my dirty ass car to get washed by the Marshall High School Class of 2010 [damn that makes me feel old!]. My cousin Mariela is part of the class club or whatever they call it. They're having a yard sale at the same time to keep customers occupied while their cars get washes. Too bad it's not a farmer's market instead. I told my niece I'd buy her some blueberries after she saw them on a cereal box and wanted some. Berries sound so good. I'm so going to the farmer's market tomorrow.

Well, it's time for me to pretend I can go home. have a hot, sticky sweet evening!

You know you're a bad blogger when.....

You know you're a bad blogger when your brother [who you had no idea even read your blog or cared for that matter] tells you he has checked your blog everyday and you have failed to amuse him with your promised daily posts. Yes, it is true....I am a bad blogger. And thank you little brother for caring. Makes me all warm and fuzzy that people care enough to read, but not comment. :-/ Looks like May-o-polooza has gonna to shits.

So what can I catch you all up on?

- Lakers won yesterday [woo-hoo!] in Game 5, and they will win on Friday to close the series. We have decided that all future Laker games must be watched at our home since they lose when we see the game elsewhere. Friday is gonna suck though. With temperatures predicted to be in the upper 90's to low 100's, our poor apt is gonna feel like an oven! Stupid A/C. Who decided to place you in the damn kitchen anyway?

- Baby G had a doctor's appt. today and all is perfect! I had been worried about Gestational Diabetes, but I passed my 3 hour glucose exam! This means I can continue to eat my Big Sticks! We also heard the heartbeat and Baby G kicked the doctor when she was holding the doppler on my belly. Baby G likes his space! ;) And I also only gained 1 lbs this month. High-five!

- Today we will be heading to my parents house to do some much needed free laundry. I love being able to hang our sheets in the sun to dry [all whites for that matter]! They just get so much cleaner. Sun is, after all, a natural bleaching agent. Stains just disappear. And of course it doesn't hurt that we get to eat my mom's bomb-as food while we're there.

- I totally predicted that the American Idol finale was gonna be a showdown between the David's. I do think Syesha is gonna do well. And I really hope Michael Johns doesn't fall off the face of the earth. I <3 him!

- Sooooo looking forwarded to LOST tonight! We finally find out how the "Oceanic 6" get off the Island and why they are, in fact, the chosen 6.

- While on the TV subject, I watched the season finale of Brothers & Sisters at lunch time and it was so good! I love that show. I'm so glad I got back on the boat. I watched the first season off and on as it didn't fit into my sleep schedule, but I got back in to it this season, and boy is it a great show! Can't wait for next season.

- While on the subject of finale's: damn The Hills season finale sucked! This is my guilty pleasure and I puffy heart this show, but that was one of the lamest finale's ever. I am, however, still looking forward to the next season starting August 18th! Woot! :-p

Picture Post

Just a quickie picture post. This is G and I on Mother's Day. I don't think I've ever posted a picture of me preggers on here. But you can clearly see my bump. I'm now 7 months pregnant. Looks like I'm carrying my weight in my belly and boobs. That's fine with me! Glad I haven't blown up.....yet.

Happy Mother's Day

Although we did a lot of mother's day celebrating yesterday for Mexican mother's day (and yes I now realize I didn't blog), today we did a lot more celebrating. We had a huge BBQ at my mom's for my big fat Mexican family. Loads of fun, great food, and pictures! I'll post pix tomorrow with my weekend rundown.

It was also nice to be one of the mothers this year. It was a question (in my head) whether I should be a part, but I've been caring for our baby for 7 months now! I think that qualifies me as a mommy. Mommy-to-be of course!

I hope everyone had a great Mother's Day!

It's Friday Bitches!

TGIF!!! I use to love TGIF....Full House, Family Matters, Step by Step, Just the Ten of Us....ah...the good old days.

Today has been a great day thus far. It's not only Friday, but I got paid, had lunch with my friend Diana, whom I hadn't seen in FOREVER! I'm talking years. Good times and yummy food at the Yard House. And she has the cutest daughter ever! Lakers play, but we'll sadly be missing the game. We'll instead be at the Dodger game! I can't wait for my Dodger Dog! YUM!

So yesterday I posted from the lab where I was getting my blood drawn. It was a 3 hour test to check for Gestational Diabetes [Pregnancy Diabetes]. So they drew my blood, gave me a super sugary glucose drink and then drew my blood every hour after that for 3 hours. They check to see if there is too much sugar being left in my blood. It was terribly boring. But check out the picture on the left. The lab is located in a really old building in Pasadena on Green St. between Mentor and Wilson. The lab is in the basement. I took this picture because the basement really freaks me out sometimes. I get a chill down there and I totally feel like I'm in a scene from "The Shining" except this hallway is scarier! At least I think so.

I failed

I didn't blog yesterday! I was so busy at work. Then we had the guys over for the Laker game and then I watched a American Idol on fast forward and went to bed. I completely forgot to blog! I made time for my baby blog but forgot to come back for this one.

Well I'm at the lab right now taking the 3 hour glucose test. I'll explain later. Won't be at work till after I have lunch since I had to fast. I'll blog more later...I hope. :)

YouTube Tuesday [and some...]

This video is long, but it's interesting!

Hope you made it thru that.

I also wanted to blog about yesterday. Me, G, my bro, and Chris went to see a taping of the Jay Leno show yesterday. The guests were Robert Downey Jr [who is assome! I love him. He is just as hilarious in person], Carlos Men-steal-ia [whom we all hate and I originally boo'd but got the evil eye from security. So instead we opted to not clap or laugh at his jokes], and the musical act was Rascal Flatts [not a fan, but they were cool]. Overall the show was alright. It was mostly interesting to see how the show works behind the scenes. We all agreed Jimmy Kimmel is better.

After the show we had dinner at Philly's Best in Burbank. One of the maybe I think producers on the show owns this franchise in Burbank. They kept talking about it before the show and it totally brought back my yet unsatisfied craving for a cheesesteak [ever since watching Bobby Flay's Cheesesteak Throwdown].

My brother and I had the Philly's Best which included grilled onions, mushrooms, peppers, and american cheese. This was bangin'! I've never been to Philly so I can't compare, but this was damn good. G had the Philly with Cheese Wiz [steak and cheese]. Also very good, but not as flavorful as ours. Chris had the Philly with provolone. I would totally eat there again, but it's too far. Thankfully there is a Philly's Best here in Pasadena! It's on Raymond Ave by the Del Mar station. Owned by someone else, but the owner of the Burbank local asked us to visit this place as they just opened and need customers. BTW, the owner over at Burbank is totally cool. He talked to us while ordering and then came out to see how we liked our cheesesteaks. Oh! And the fries are good too. :) Can't wait to have another!

WEEKEND RUNDOWN

FRIDAY

On Friday I mentioned my stomach pains. By lunch time, that day, I was starving. I ate lots and felt much better the rest of the day. I don't know why I was having pains. But I had told my boss that I'd be taking a half day so I didn't go back to work. After lunch at Domenico's [on Washington Blvd] G and I began my hunt for an outfit for Saturday. We headed to Paseo as I had seen online that Motherhood Maternity had cute cheap dresses. But we quickly discovered the store is no longer there. Even though the website still says it is.

G took advantage of the early afternoon and the fact that we were right outside a movie theater and convinced me to see Iron Man. Truthfully, I didn't need much convincing. I really wanted to see this movie too. We both really enjoyed the movie. Definitely one of the best comic book movies so far [although I'll admit to enjoying the X-men movies]. And I luv Robert Downey Jr. His sarcasm is great.....just like mine. :-p

After the movie we headed to Old Navy to continue my search. Luckily Old Navy came thru this time and I was able to find a complete outfit! Here's what I got:

I wore a black short sleeved cardigan over the dress and topped it with a long silver necklace from H&M. G even picked out my shoes! I'm wearing the sandals again today. I love them...now...wasn't too sure at time of purchase.

After Old Navy we had a sushi dinner at Ichima. We then headed to Old Town to get Alejandra's gift [H&M gift card and the first 2 Gossip Girl Books]. Of course I had to get frozen yogurt at 21 Choices. I had the Mango Pineapple with chopped in fresh strawberries and blackberries. The yogurt tasted just like Malibu Rum! Yummy.

SATURDAY

I blogged a short recap with a pic from the confirmation. It was all lovely. Church was followed by a family dinner at my parent's home. Yummy red or white posole followed by a super chocolatey chocolate cake topped with fresh strawberries.

Here's a pic of myself with the my Confirmanti and her family. I look so short!
Oh! I did not end up watching the boxing match. But I heard it was pretty lame. Oscar shoulda TKO'd him.

SUNDAY
And of course lazy Sunday. In short, here's what I did.
- Had cereal with oatmeal for breakfast
- Watched TV
- Baked Oatmeal Cookies
- G came home with carne asada burritos
- Watched the Laker game
- TV
- G left to play a basketball game
- Brought home a so not even healthy dinner of McD's. So was craving the cheeseburger again.
- Watched bootleg copy of "Under the Same Moon" that G's dad had. Totally awesome copy! Loved it! Cried my eyes out.
- Watched Brothers & Sisters in bed.

Lazy right! I love lazy days. And now I'm too lazy to add links and proof read. :)

Lazy Sunday

I didn't even leave my home today. Ahhh how I love lazy Sundays. But I did bake those delicious oatmeal cookies in the picture! The recipe came from the Quaker Oats box. They came out great. I just omitted the raisins because they aren't my fav. I also got to use my new Silpat that gave my cookies a nice golden bottom.

Now I'm finishing watching "Brothers & Sisters" and I'm super tired. I totally forgot to blog earlier so I'll have to cut it short. I know...again. At least I have stuff to blog about for tomorrow! 'night!

Oh yeah - Go Lakers! Won the first game against Utah! Next game is Wednesday where Kobe better get the MVP trophy.

Fairy Godmother

Here is a picture of me and Alejandra just after she got Confirmed. I was tired after the 2 hour mass and starving. I have now enjoyed some nachos and a huge bowl of red posole. Yum!! Now I'm just waiting for cake.

Later tonight I'll be watching the Oscar De La Hoya fight that we recorded. And don't forget tomorrow is Game 1 for the Lakers vs the Jazz!

Peace

Stomach Virus?

I think I'm getting sick, but I'm not really sure. I woke up with a huge stomach ache this morning. It is now 12:10pm and it hurts just as much. I came to work around 9:30am because I don't want to use up my sick time now. I'm trying to save it for when I go on maternity leave. But I think I'm gonna go home. Plus, everyone at work is sick with something and I can't afford to really get sick right now. I've also been able to eat and my stomach hurts no more and no less than it did before eating. So I don't know what the deal is. All I know is I gotta stay hydrated.

Another reason I don't want to get sick is because I have my cousin's Confirmation tomorrow. I must be 100% for her. I still gotta go out today to find something to wear and get her gift. Already sounds like a long day. :( But G is off today so hopefully he'll be willing to play driver.

Have a good weekend everyone! Wait! Hahahaha...I have to blog on the weekends this month! I almost forgot. Well happy Friday everyone!

May-a-polooza

Today is day 1 of my 31 days of consecutive posts. It's quite a commitment and I'm scared. But I'm motivated by the fact that there is at least one person out there who is looking forward to my posts. :)

Sometimes I find it really hard to think of things to post that aren't pregnancy related. That's really all that's going on right now. That's why I haven't been posting much. So don't be surprise if some of my May posts turn out to be solely pregnancy related. I know not everyone reads my baby blog so it won't be redundant.

I'm feeling a lot of pressure to make my first post a good post. But I think it just gonna be one of those "I'm sorry..." "let me explain to you..." posts. But here's a question. What do you give a 15yr old getting confirmed? I'm my cousin's Sponsor for her Confirmation and have NO idea what to give her as a gift. I know...I should be enough of a gift, but teens are tough. I have narrowed it down to at least.....oh crap....I think she reads my blog. Never mind I can't say what. But please give me some suggestions people! And btw - the Confirmation is this Saturday so I need ideas ASAP! :)

I also wanted to mention that I heard last night that Brad Pitt's production company, Plan B, has picked up the movie rights for "A Beautiful Boy" and "Tweak" [the son's memoir]. I'm glad we're reading the book right now and look forward to seeing the film. Although I hope they don't cut a bunch of scenes out like with "The Kite Runner." In this article you can also read about Plan B developing "Eat, Pray, Love" with Julia Roberts being reported to star. IMDb has a release date of 2010 with no other info. Interesting.

And don't forget tonight is Taco Truck Night!

D-Day

D-Day is tomorrow! My 31 days of blogging begins! I am seriously scared about this.

Wish me luck!

WEEKEND RUNDOWN

This weekend was pretty chill. Friday we had dinner at my parents house [yummy sopes!] and then had "the guys" over for a Wii game night. Our friend Mike brought over his Wii and we played bowling, tennis, and golf. Wii is so much damn fun. I want one so bad, but we really can't afford it right now. I thought about adding it to our baby registry, but I got the stink eye from G. :( I was able to stay up till 12am! I guess it was because I was busy, otherwise I tend to crash way earlier.

Saturday I was all alone as G had to work 8-5pm. I made myself the most bangin' french toast using Trader Joe's Cinnamon Swirl Bread. OMG! Soooo good! Everyone must try this sometime. I had 2 giant pieces. i was only missing some fresh strawberries and powdered sugar to top it with! MMmmmmm...sugar. After watching some Food Network TV, I got my lazy ass up to get ready for the Festival of Books @ UCLA. I went with A and her mom. After struggling thru bad LA traffic, we finally made it around 2:30pm. Might've been closer to 3pm. But it was so damn hot on Saturday that by 4:30pm we were done! The festival was cool. Tons and Tons of tents with all kinds of books. Each tent has a specific topic. We even got a free English Qur'an, study bible, and Buddhism guides. :) I'm all about learning new things.

I did buy a couple of books, however, both A and I thought there would be way more discounts on books. Most stuff was full price unless you went to a specialty tent that was selling random books for about half off. Any how, I bought the cutest children's book - "Abuelita Full of Life/Abuelita Llena de Vida" by Amy Costales. It is a bilingual book and it is beautifully illustrated. This one was full price, but the author was there and she signed the book. She was totally cool too. She told me the stories behind her books. She has 2 other books and is working on her 4th. I plan to get her other book "Hello Night, Hola Noche."

I am starting to build our baby library. I have tons of books, but my focus is totally shifting on to our baby. I want him to have all the classics that I grew up reading, plus some new ones. Especially these bilingual books, since we plan on teaching him Spanish first and then English.

At one of the discount tents where all paperbacks were $7.50 I bought 2 books I've been wanting to read. "Paula" by Isabel Allende and "The Historian" by Elizabeth Kostova. I wanted to and should have bought more, but my stack of books to read is getting too high.

That night we had a carne asada dinner at my father-in-law's house. Good times.

Sunday G worked till 1pm. I made more french toast [:))] and had a lazy afternoon. G and I had a late lunch at Tops. It was so hot! We drove by a few perspective apartments. I really liked one of them. Really nice, gated, and even though it's 3 stories it has an elevator [Big plus with a baby], and I think it's 11oos q ft. But we would also have to pay around $275 more per month for this place. Rent is not cheap in Pasadena! We want to move into a 2 bedroom before baby arrives. And a house is so not an option for us right now. Sad, but true.

We topped of the day by not making it to the 5pm mass and instead making some crab ceviche for dinner. It was too hot to make hot food. I also made myself some frozen virgin strawberry margaritas. So good! We watched A Scanner Darkly on Cinemax OnDemand. Weird movie, but interesting.

Nice weekend overall.

So is everyone ready for the Lakers to make their sweep today?!? Bring out the brooms!

Haitus

I've been wanting to blog for a long time. I mean my last post was over a week ago. Time is short these days, and when I do have time I don't really want to spend it thinking about a post. I thought that having a blackberry would allow me to post more and want to post more, but it hasn't worked that way, unfortunately. This pregnancy shizz has just got me so tired all the time. So I apologize my peeps. Not even my Baby Blog has received any love. :(

I have a plan for the month of May. To post every day! Can you imagine that? A whole entire 31 days of posting. I'm scared, but I really think this will help me get back into it. So get ready folks!

I'll leave this short as I am starving! I need a snack.

BTW - I plan to attend the Festival of Books @ UCLA tomorrow with my friend A. If you have nothing planned for this beautiful Saturday afternoon you should totally check it out!

***For those of you that do not read my baby blog here's a quickie update.
How far? 26 weeks! [6.5 months]
Complaints? I cant remember shit! Pregnancy brain is NOT an urban legend. Also, legs cramps have begun. This SUCKS to wake up to when you can barely reach your legs.
Love? Feeling our little man move all day! We can now feeling him wiggling around inside with our hands [not just sporadic kicks]. It's the coolest weirdest feeling ever. And I'm really getting use to my growing belly. I love it! I don't even notice my gigantic boobs anymore! :-p

Pregnancy Brain

Apparently I haven't been carrying my license since who knows when, and I didn't realize it until I was asked for it at the free movie screening. Assome. You know what that means. No free movie for us. And we still had to pay for parking! Pretty po'd at myself because I really wanted to see this movie. Come October [the release date of this movie] I'm sure the little one won't be allowing us movie dates. :(

BTW

I finally saw No Country For Old Men and it was not the BEST movie of the year. There Will Be Blood is sooooo much better. I'll even take Into the Wild and Across the Universe any day. Won't be a fan.

Also saw Beowulf and kinda enjoyed it. I bet it was cool in IMAX.

And tonight we are going to see one of those free screening [you know, you see them outside movie theaters hounding people to see a free movie]. The movie is called Body of Lies and it stars Leonardo DiCaprio and Russell Crow, and it is directed by Ridley Scott. I think that's enough to say we won't be disappointed. I'll post a review tomorrow.
